Birchbox October 2015

Hello my lovely ladies and gents! Today I have an exciting new subscription box to share with you guys! It’s my Birchbox subscription for October 2015! It might not be new to most people. I’m sure a lot of you have heard about Birchbox. But it is new to me.

I never considered Birchbox because I always wanted more full size products when it came to subscription boxes. For those of you not familiar with Birchbox, they are a subscription box company that sends out samples sized products every month for $10 a box. Lately I’ve been seeing more and more people post their Birchbox with samples of items that I want to try with a decent amount of product despite the fact that they are sample sizes. So I decided to give it a try and it turned out better than I could have hoped. This is probably my 4th box now and I have loved every box so far. I’ve ended up trying everything in the box and loved most if not all things that I received.

So I guess it goes without saying that I am very satisfied with Birchbox! Anyways, here’s what I recieved for the month of October.

Alright, I know it doesn’t look like much but there’s a bunch of awesome things in this box. And it’s really pretty!

This is the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. I have heard so many amazing things about this dry shampoo. I’ve been so curious about it but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much money when my favorite dry shampoo (Batiste) is only $7. Less if I have coupons. I want to see if it can really beat my Batiste and if it’s worth the splurge.

Next is the Eyeko Black Magic Mascara. I have never heard of this brand before but it does spark my interest. I’ve never seen a mascara in a tube before and I do like the brush at first glance. So I hope I end up liking this mascara.

This one is called ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Kitty. Personally, I don’t have high hopes for this. I’ve been way too disappointed by this brand. I’ve yet to find a product I like from this brand. But it is a nice color. I did swatch it but I lost the picture of the swatch. Swatching it went smoothly. It was creamy and felt hydrating on my hand but the pigmentation was lackluster. I’ll leave it at that.

This is the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. Good thing they have a description on the Birchbox flier because the description on the product was in french. This moisturizer claims that it heals dryness and preps the skin for makeup. So I guess it’s a primer and a moisturizer too? Those are huge claims for a moisturizer though.

Last but not the least is the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. I’m always excited when I get samples like these. I have panda eyes and always looking for ways to treat them or make them appear better. These types of pads are usually hard to come by and when they do, they cost a fortune and only have 5 packs in one set which usually means 5 uses. So I’m excited to try it!

Anyways thanks for stopping by!

Until next time!

As Always,
Nicole ❤

April Favorites 2015

cover pic

It’s finally May! I gotta be honest, April felt like it was never gonna end. It was a busy and stressful month but I got through it. Anyways, it’s time for April favorites! After all the hauls I’ve done for the past two months, I found a bunch of new favorites along with possible holy grails. Hope you guys like my favs for April. Enjoy! Don’t forget to tell about your favorites for April in the comments section. Feel free to link you favorites post if you have one. I’d love to check it out.

For April’s favorites, My Melody will be joining us as I show you guys my favorites.

Heart on collage
First, I have a lippie stix and lip pencil from ColourPop both in the color Heart On. It’s a magenta color with some red tones. I love that they added the red tones to Heart On. It makes the color more wearable and toned down. I can’t wear some magenta colors because they’re too bright and clashing with my skin tone but this is more wearable for people who have darker skin tones because of the red tones in it.

Mac high strung collage
Since it’s spring, my looks have been more colorful than usual. I needed something to be toned down, so I’ve been wearing this High Strung by Mac with my colorful looks. It’s a beautiful champagne rose color with some silver shimmer. Beware with the looks you wear this lipstick with! It is a frost finish, so if you’re not careful, it can make you look flushed and zombie like. I have a medium skin tone and it’s still wearable for me. But if you have a lighter skin tone (especially those who are really pale), this is going to look gorgeous on you!

Mac Melba Collage
I picked out another Mac product. This time it’s a blush and in the color Melba. It’s a matte warm coral, peach blush. This blush looks great with any warm look and it’s also a universal color. It’s one of those blushes that will look good on anyone in any skin tone. A lot of my looks have been warmer because of the spring season and upcoming summer season. When I didn’t want to think about what blush to wear, I would just choose Melba and it would look great with whatever warm look I had for that day.

Becca Opal collage
There’s not much I can say about this highlighter. If you haven’t tried or heard of Becca’s Opal highlighter, you need to. It’s amazing! Seriously, go out and try it at Sephora or Ulta. My swatch is crap but even if I got a good one, you wouldn’t be able to tell how gorgeous it is until you try it. It’s also a universal color. I believe that it will look great on any skin tone.

roller lash mascara
I have a review coming up for this. I’m sure a lot of you have heard about Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara. There’s been some controversy on whether it lives up to the hype and its promises. I will voice out my opinion on my review but in general, I really like. It’s the only mascara I’ve worn this month.

beauty blender
First of all, I apologize that my Beauty Blender is dirty. I used it for the past two day and haven’t had time to clean it. I bought this in October and I just opened it halfway through March. There’s been so much hype about it but I never really jumped on the hype until now. I guess I was scared of it. In the makeup world, sponges are looked down on because of sanitary issues but this stuff is awesome! It’s so easy to use and it applies my foundation better than my current foundation brush. It also makes my foundation look more natural and flawless. I’m glad I finally tried it.

belief moisturizer
My daytime moisturizer ran out months ago. I’ve using my First Aid Beauty cream moisturizer which I love because it healed my skin during the fall and winter season. I still love it even now but I felt it was too heavy to use in the morning, so I picked this up about a month ago and so far I love it. This is gel based but it feels so light and moisturizing. Perfect for a daytime moisturizer.

batiste blush
Batiste Dry Shampoo is officially my favorite dry shampoo. First of all, I’m happy with the price and it goes on sale often at Ulta. Also, it sprays on white powder but it doesn’t stay on white on your hair. I have lighter hair now but I still have dark roots and with all other dry shampoos I’ve tried, I always had an issue with the white powder not fading away no matter how much I comb or massage my hair. But this dry shampoo’s white powder actually fades away. This one is blush, I want to try other scents but they were all sold out 😦

love is heavenly
This is my favorite perfume from Victoria Secret. I am obsessed with scent. Everything about this scent screams spring and summer to me for no particular reason. I don’t really know what else to say about it. This stuff smells amazing and perfect for the upcoming season.

Alright that’s pretty much it. I hope you guys enjoyed it!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

As always,
Nicole ❤

Ulta Haul! Spring 2015

So for the last few months, I have been hauling quite a bit of stuff. Ulta kept sending those 20% off coupons every now and then. I couldn’t resist checking out what was new at Ulta and with 20% off, I just had to take advantage of that discount. So here is my cumulative ulta haul!

Becca opal collage
I threw the box already because I kept coming back to it and using it. It’s so gorgeous! Swatching it is not enough. You guys have to try it on at Sephora on your skin or if your Ulta has it in their stores.

UD Solstice Collage
I got this based on bflyrenee’s recommendation. She featured it in her favorites. I was scared when I first swatched this at the store. It’s basically pressed glitter shadow. But the color combination of this shadow had so many possibilities. The base is a reddish-pink color topped with blue-green glitter and the swatch really was beautiful. The swatch in the picture doesn’t even compare to actually swatching it in person.

UD Naked flushed in naked collage
I decided to give this a chance again. I bought it before but in streak. The bronzer was too light for my complexion and I didn’t like the blush or highlight. However, I tried Naked in the store and it did compliment my skin tone so I decided try it out again. I was really disappointed when I had to return streak because of the portability of this palette.

benefit roller lash collage
Ahh yes, the mascara that everyone’s been talking about. I decided to finally give in to the hype just because I have loved all of the other benefit mascaras. I’m not going to say too much because I am doing a review on this soon enough. So stay tuned for that!

butter london trout pout
I hate spending a lot of money for nail polishes. I love wearing nail polish but my nails grow so fast that it’s hard to keep nail polish on my nails. I usually have to remove them after 5 days or even 3 sometimes. Plus my nails are naturally huge and I don’t cut them unless they’re super long, so it takes a lot of nail polish just to apply them all over my nails. This nail polish was $15 which is steep for what I usually like to pay for nail polish. I’ve had them on for about a week and half now and they definitely need to be redone already. They started chipping around the 5th day. However, the application process was easy, not streaky and only 2 coats. BUT what irks me the most about this nail polish is that 2 coats cost me almost half the bottle. It’s a great nail polish but I probably won’t be buying it by itself. I’ll wait until they have sets for a good deal.

batiste dry shampoo blush and floral essence
You guys will see this in my favorites for this month, so I won’t even talk about it too much except the fact that it’s absolutely AMAZING! They were having a buy one get one for 50% off, so I decided to grab these since I’ve been using up (and loving) my current one like crazy.

That’s pretty much it for this haul! I have a couple of more hauls on the way. I’m sorry if you don’t like hauls but there’s a lot of new spring stuff and it was my birthday last month so I have been shopping quite a lot the past month just because you get deals and coupons on your birthday. So watch out for those hauls!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time!

As Always,
Nicole ❤
